Pokey is a reoccurring enemy in the Super Mario Bros. franchise.
Overview[]
When summoned, it will lazily drift around the stage. Coming into contact with Pokey will deal high damage; even if you use a physical melee attack. Pokey can only be damaged via projectiles, items, and weapons like swords and hammers. Fist, foot, and other types of attacks will damage the attacker. Hitting the body will reduce the size of the Pokey by removing one body segment. It can only be fully defeated by reducing the segments to just its head and then attacking that. Unlike most Assist Trophies, it will damage both summoner and the opponents. As a nod to the source material, Yoshi can slurp up the segments using the neutral special attack or grab attack
